Competitions are held from time to time for the recruitment of disabled persons to the Civil Service at various grade levels.

Question:90 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Finance if there is likely to be any separate promotion structure for disabled persons in the Civil Service; if not, the reason; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
A separate promotion structure for disabled persons in the Civil Service is not envisaged. Disabled persons are eligible for consideration for promotion in the same way as other members of the grade in which they may be serving.

Question:91 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Finance (1) the number of disabled persons that have been promoted within the Civil Service since they joined the service, (2) the years in which such promotions took place; and (3) the grades which were involved.
Over 75 disabled persons have been promoted within the Civil Service since 1979. Details are set out in the following table.
