92 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Finance the number of clerical officers who have been appointed from the 1986 open disabled competition; and the number who are likely to be appointed before the panel is exhausted.

Thirty-two clerical officers have been appointed from the 1986 open disabled competition. It is not possible to say how many more will be appointed.

93 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline where the responsibility lies to ensure that the commitment given by the Government to try to reach 3 per cent quota for disabled persons in the Civil Service is achieved.

Responsibility for a 3 per cent quota scheme for the employment of disabled persons in the Civil Service — as distinct from the public service — rests with the Department of Finance.
