Thirty-two clerical officers have been appointed from the 1986 open disabled competition. It is not possible to say how many more will be appointed.

Question:93 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline where the responsibility lies to ensure that the commitment given by the Government to try to reach 3 per cent quota for disabled persons in the Civil Service is achieved.
Responsibility for a 3 per cent quota scheme for the employment of disabled persons in the Civil Service — as distinct from the public service — rests with the Department of Finance.
