A Cheann Comhairle, I beg leave to announce, for the information of the Dáil,
(1) that, having informed the President that Dáil Éireann had approved my nomination of Deputies Vincent Brady and Noel Davern to be members of the Government, the President yesterday appointed them accordingly;
(2) that I yesterday
(a) terminated the assignment to myself of the Department of Finance and assigned that Department to Deputy Bertie Ahern,
(b) terminated the assignment to the Tánaiste, Deputy John P. Wilson of the Department of the Environment and assigned that Department to Deputy Rory O'Hanlon,
(c) terminated the assignment to Deputy Michael O'Kennedy of the Department of Agriculture and Food and assigned that Department to Deputy Michael Woods,
(d) terminated the assignment to Deputy Bertie Ahern of the Department of Labour and assigned that Department to Deputy Michael O'Kennedy,
(e) terminated the assignment to Deputy Michael Woods of the Department of Social Welfare and assigned that Department to Deputy Brendan Daly,
(f) terminated the assignment to Deputy Rory O'Hanlon of the Department of Health and assigned that Department to Deputy Mary O'Rourke,
(g) terminated the assignment to Deputy Brendan Daly of the Department of Defence and assigned that Department to Deputy Vincent Brady; and
(h) terminated the assignment to Deputy Mary O'Rourke of the Department of Education and assigned that Department to Deputy Noel Davern.
