Michael Joe Cosgrave

Question:

104 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Education if he will give details of the number of staff employed in his private office (1) on a permanent basis and (2) on a part-time basis; and if he will give details of the total costs for such staff for the years (a) 1970-75, (b) 1975-80 and (c) 1980 to date.

The number of staff currently employed in the Minister's office is (i) 12 permanent staff — three of whom are employed in the constituency office — and (ii) one temporary staff. The total salary cost for the staff in 1991 is estimated at £151,000.

Historical information relating to staff costs for the periods referred to by the Deputy is not available.
