105 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education if he will sanction the appointment of a full time caretaker to a primary school (details supplied) in County Limerick to replace the previous caretaker who has now retired.
Under the terms of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress it is proposed to provide grant support for an increased number of caretakers in schools. My Department are currently considering the details for such a scheme.
I am not yet in a position to identify which school might be grant aided until the scheme becomes operational.
