Vol. 414 No. 6

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Delay.

Brendan McGahon

Question:

15 Mr. McGahon asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in decentralising sections of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners and the Office of Public Works to Dundalk, County Louth; whether premises have been obtained and when the decentralisation will take place.

A brief of accommodation requirements has been compiled by the Office of Public Works in respect of its staff to be decentralised and one is awaited from the Revenue Commissioners.

The Commissioners of Public Works are still considering the suitability and location of a number of sites offered by the Dundalk Urban District Council. A decision has not yet been made.
Until those two matters are resolved, it is not possible to say when decentralisation will take place.
