Vol. 414 No. 6

Written Answers. - Labour Legislation Obligations.

Peter Barry

Question:

83 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Finance if he has satisfied himself that all Government Departments, and semi-State bodies under his control, are employing security companies that meet all the obligations under labour legislation.

I am satisfied that my Department and the offices under my aegis are employing security companies that meet all the obligations under labour legislation. In the case of semi-State bodies under my aegis, both the Industrial Credit Corporation and the Central Bank do not employ security companies, but employ their own security staff. In the case of the Agricultural Credit Corporation, they only employ reputable companies who are members of the Irish Security Association.

I am proposing only to answer in respect of my own Department and the semi-State bodies under my aegis.
