Vol. 415 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Louth Hospital.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

358 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Health if she has had consultations with the management of a hospital (details supplied) in County Louth for the provision of a geriatric assessment unit; and, if so, when negotiations will be entered into in this regard.

The establishment of a geriatric assessment and rehabilitation unit in the NorthEastern Health Board area forms an integral part of the plans of the health board to rationalise services for the elderly in the area. Officials of my Department have had exploratory discussions with the management of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and I understand further discussions are planned.
