Question:

119 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Health the average patient cost per day in acute hospitals in each health board area.

The information requested by the Deputy, based on the most recent information available, is set out in the attached table. It is stressed that patient costs per day vary greatly depending on the type of hospital and on the mix of cases treated. Any crude comparison of the figure shown in the table would therefore be very misleading.
