Vol. 415 No. 7

Written Answers. - Use of Recycled Paper.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

6 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline (1) the quantity of recycled paper used in his Department in each of the last four years and (2) the increase/decrease in the use of these products; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The paper used by the Department generally is supplied on foot of contracts placed by the Government Supplies Agency. The technical composition of the paper, including whether it is of recycled origin or not, is a matter for that agency. It is not possible to quantify the amount of recycled paper, if any, included in deliveries of paper received in, or used by, the Department on each of the last four years as the Department's records do not lend themselves to such analysis.
