Vol. 415 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Bernard Allen

Question:

20 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who was promised a rebate totalling £196.66 on 19 December 1991, but has not yet received it.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a cheque in settlement for £196.66 was issued to the taxpayer on 18 December, 1991 and cashed on 30 December, 1991. A further repayment for £89.39 will be issued to him shortly.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

21 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if a tax rebate is due to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who did not work from 22 November 1991 to February 1992 and who will again be employed in two weeks; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that no application for repayment of tax during unemployment was received from the taxpayer. The relevant application form was issued by the inspector of taxes on 11 February, 1992. On receipt of the completed form the taxpayer's liability to tax will be reviewed.
