Members of Government and Ministers of State: Announcement by Taoiseach.

A Cheann Comhairle, I beg leave to announce, for the information of the Dáil:

(1) that, having informed the President that Dáil Éireann had approved my nomination of Deputies to be members of the Government, the President, on 11 February 1992, appointed them accordingly,

(2) that, on the same date, I nominated John P. Wilson to be the Tánaiste;

(3) that, on the same date, I assigned the Departments of State to the members of the Government as follows:

Department of Defence and the Department of the Gaeltacht

(5) that, on the same date, the Government appointed the following Deputies to be Ministers of State with the responsibilities as indicated:

Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, (with special responsibility as Government Chief Whip);

and Mary Harney

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, (with special responsibility for the office for the Protection of the Environment);

and

(6) that, today, the Government appointed the following Deputies to be Ministers of State with the responsibilities as indicated:

Minister of State at the Department of Industry and Commerce, (with special responsibility for Trade and Marketing);
