Vol. 415 No. 7

Written Answers. - Bishopstown (Cork) Sports Complex.

Peter Barry

Question:

68 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in commencing the building of a sports complex in Bishopstown, Cork as it is two years since tenders were sought for its construction.

Following public advertisement, a proposal for the design, construction, finance and operation of Cork regional sports centre has been received by my Department and is being examined in consultation with Cork Corporation. This approach to the provision of the centre raises complex issues which need careful consideration before a final decision can be reached.
