Question:86 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the proposed new school for mentally handicapped children at Snipe Avenue, Newcastle, County Galway.

A capital provision for the proposed new special national school at Snipe Avenue, Newcastle, Galway, has been included in the primary schools building programme for 1992. My Department will put the further arrangements for the placing of the contract in hands at the earliest possible date and will communicate with the school authorities in this regard.
