Merchant Shipping Bill, 1991: Financial Resolution.

I move:

That it is expedient to make provision—

(a) for the charging in respect of—

(i) the issue of passenger ships certificates and the grant of passenger boat licences, and

(ii) surveys of passenger ships and inspections of passenger boats,

of such fees as may be prescribed by regulations made by the Minister for the Marine with the consent of the Minister for Finance, and

(b) for the charging, under regulations made for the purpose of ensuring the safety of passenger boats and their passengers and crews, fishing vessels and their crews and pleasure craft and their occupants, of such fees as may be prescribed by the Minister for the Marine with the consent of the Minister for Finance.

Under any Act of the present session to make further provision in relation to the safety of passenger ships, passenger boats, fishing vessels and pleasure craft, to amend the Merchant Shipping Acts, 1894 to 1983, and to provide for related matters.

Question put and agreed to.
