142 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline, in respect of each judge of the Supreme Court for each year since 1988 (1) whether the judge was a member of any other court, tribunal or public body and (2) if so, if he will give the name of the court, tribunal or body of which the judge was a member.
Judge Walsh, who retired as a judge of the Supreme Court on 24 March 1990, is a member of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and has been such a member for each of the years since 1988. Judge McCarthy has been chairperson of the Committee on Court Practice and Procedure since 21 April 1988 and chairperson of the National Archives Advisory Council in each of the years in question.
