Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to the Ceann Comhairle under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Mervyn Taylor — the raid by armed officers of the Special Branch on the community hall of Killinarden Community Centre on 14 January 1992; (2) Deputy Pat McCartan — the circumstances of the three expulsions of students at Greendale community school in June 1991 and the need for the Minister for Education to intervene and resolve the situation; (3) Deputy Dinny McGinley — if the Minister for Foreign Affairs will reconsider his decision to reduce to £50,000 his Department's assistance to voluntary and charitable groups working with Irish emigrants in the US; (4) Deputy Bernard Allen — the inability of local authorities throughout this country to monitor the discharges from hospital incinerators because of the failure to produce the required regulations under the Air Pollution Act, 1987; (5) Deputy Thomas W. Enright — the urgent necessity for an extension to Crinkle national school, Birr, County Offaly, where children are attending for their education in sub standard premises and when the Depart ment will be appointing a contractor for work to the extension; (6) Deputy John V. Farrelly — the plans the Minister for Education has for the development of accommodation for St. Mary's diocesan school, Beamore Road, Drogheda; and if he will allocate sufficient funds in 1992 for the commencement of this project; (7) Deputy Roger Garland — the failure of the Minister for the Marine to respond to the urgent pleas by the many interest involved in the preservation of the sea trout in western areas to take the appro priate action to control the salmon farm ing industry to safeguard this precious resource; (8) Deputy Mary Flaherty — the latest developments on the ESB bill ing system. I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Taylor Enright and McCartan.
