Question:

31 Mr. Kavanagh asked the Minister for Defence whether there are requirements under Defence Act, 1954, Orders or Defence Forces regulations prior to moving troops across command boundaries for an ongoing mission; and if so, if he will make a statement on the matter.

In accordance with an order made pursuant to subsection (2) of section 13 of the Defence Act, 1954, the Chief of Staff is required to consult with the Minister in regard to the distribution and movement of troops.
