Question:199 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was refused a beef premium for four bullocks under the 1990 beef premium scheme.
The person named was refused premium on five animals under the 1990 special beef premium scheme because one of them was an ineligible female, a second animal could not be accounted for by him and three other animals listed on his application had already been paid premium in the previous year.

This applicant's 1991 suckler cow premium and beef cow schemes grants are being processed and payments will issue shortly.
My Department are unable to trace an application from him under the 1991 special beef premium scheme.

As the applicant in this case did not furnish his farm accounts until the end of January the file was not forwarded from the local office for processing until early this month.
It is expected that the grant will be paid inside the next few weeks.
