39 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications the actions her Department propose to take to mark the 500th anniversary of the European discovery of America, in the context of Ireland's participation in EXPO 92 in Seville; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Ireland will be one of 110 countries participating at EXPO '92 in Seville which marks the 500th Anniversary of the European discovery of America.
A sum of £3.5 million has been provided from national lottery funds towards the cost of providing an Irish pavilion at the site which will evoke the unique Irish contribution in terms of art, culture, music and economic development to human "Discovery", the main theme of the exposition.
