93 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in expenses being paid to two people (details supplied) in County Wexford for attendance at a Circuit Court hearing (details supplied) in March of last year as witnesses; and when payment will be made.
Witnesses' expenses are normally payable at the conclusion of court proceedings.
The case mentioned by the Deputy is still before the court and is listed for determination on 4 March 1992.
However, I have had inquiries made and I understand that arrangements are in fact in hand to have these expenses paid very shortly.
