Question:

150 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a headage payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Longford.

This person has been deemed ineligible for payment of grants under the 1991 cattle and equines scheme because he has failed to satisfy my Department that he is in a position to honour his undertaking to continue in farming in a disadvantaged area for five years.

151 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Longford.

This person's application for grant aid under the 1991 special beef premium scheme is being processsed and if found in order payment will issue shortly.

152 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if, in relation to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 194 of 19 February 1992 the investigations into the application of a person (details supplied) in County Longford for grants under the 1991 cattle and equines headage scheme are completed; and, if so, when he will receive payment.

Arising from the investigations mentioned, this person has been requested to submit documentary evidence of all lands owned and rented by him. When he does so his eligibility for payment of grants under the 1991 cattle and equines headage scheme will be considered further.

Payment of grants to this person under the 1991 suckler cow premium, special beef premium and cattle and equine headage schemes will be considered further when his solicitors submit to my Department documentary evidence that he is entitled to these payments.

154 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will investigate the delay in the payment of a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

My Department are unable to trace any 1991 cattle headage, suckler cow premium or sheep headage scheme applications from the person named. He was deemed ineligible for grants under the 1991 special beef premium scheme as the animals presented at inspection were found to be ineligible females.

155 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will investigate the delay in the payment of a ewe premium to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

My Department cannot trace an application from the persons named. The person to whom the quoted herd number refers was paid the first and second instalments of the 1991 ewe premium in September and November 1991. The final instalment of the premium will be paid in April 1992.

156 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will investigate the delay in the payment of a suckler grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

My Department are unable to trace any 1990 or 1991 suckler cow premium scheme application from the person named. He has been paid 1991 cattle headage scheme grants jointly with another person.

157 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a headage payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

This applicant is not eligible for grants under the 1991 cattle headage, beef cow or sheep headage schemes as his lands are not situated in a disadvantaged area. He has been deemed ineligible for grants under the 1991 suckler cow premium scheme because some animals listed on his application form as cows were found to be in-calf heifers and maiden heifers. He has been requested to submit cattle identity cards and documentation from his veterinary surgeon in connection with his application for grants under the 1991 special beef premium scheme and when he does so the question of the payment of grants to him under that scheme will be considered further.

He did not apply for grants under the 1991 special beef premium scheme.
