Vol. 417 No. 6

Written Answers. - Prosecution of Traders.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

16 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the number of traders who have been convicted under Statutory Instrument No. 123 of 1990 under the Air Pollution Act, 1987 in the years 1990 and 1991 respectively; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Information from the local authorities concerned indicates that there was one successful prosecution in 1990, and five in 1991, in respect of offences under the Air Pollution Act, 1987 (Marketing, Sale and Distribution of Fuels) Regulations, 1990.
