Vol. 417 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

William Cotter

Question:

164 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a cattle headage payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The herd number quoted is incorrect. The person named has been paid 1991 special beef premium grants already. The 1991 cattle headage and suckler cow premium schemes grants have been paid to the previous registered herdowner.

Question:

185 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a special beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 165 and 185 together. This person's application for payment of grant under the 1991 special beef premium scheme will be considered further when he accounts for one animal listed on his application which was absent when his herd was inspected and when he submits cattle identity cards for animals which had lost their eartags.

Question:

166 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment will be made of outstanding grants under the 1991 schemes for, (1) the special beef premium, (2) the suckler cow premium and (3) the sheep subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the date on which payment was authorised by his Department's local office in Limerick.

This person's applications for grants under the 1991 special beef premium and suckler cow premium schemes were passed for payment by the Limerick office on 18 February 1992 and 4 March 1992 respectively, subject to further checks by the computer division of my Department. Payment of the special beef premium will be made this week. The suckler cow premium application is still being processed and if found in order payment will issue shortly.

The first and second instalments of the 1991 ewe premium have already been paid. The third instalment which has been fixed at £9.05 per ewe, will be paid as soon as the Commission has formalised its decision on the amount. The additional supplement of £3.52 per ewe and the 1991 disadvantaged areas sheep headage grant will also be paid shortly.
