Written Answers. - Milk Quality Standards.

Michael Finucane

Question:

187 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the current position regarding the allocation of £4.39 million as part of 1991-92 package of measures aimed at improving Irish milk quality standards; and if he will outline the qualified organisations and producer groups which will be aided and when this funding will take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

On 20 January 1992 the EC Commission approved certain proposals for measures in respect of the improvement of milk quality in Ireland. The organisations whose proposals were approved for funding were, (1) ICOS, (2) Teagasc (3) Dublin District Milk Board and (4) Boherbue Co-operative Society Ltd. The funds have now been made available to these organisations in respect of the specified milk quality improvement measures.
