191 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Education when the application for a new school to replace the existing primary school in Shercock, County Cavan was received by his Department, and if he will make a statement on the matter.
An application in respect of this project was first received in 1983. For a variety of reasons it did not proceed at that stage.
The current position regarding this project is that tender documents have been completed. Some modifications to the original plans were necessary as a result of which revised local authority permission is required. When this has been received the question of invitation of tenders for the project will arise for consideration in the context of the available capital and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities.
