Written Answers. - Croom (County Limerick) Orthopaedic Hospital.

Michael Finucane

Question:

220 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Health if he is providing additional nursing staff to support the anaesthetist and the orthopaedic surgeons that were recruited at Croom Orthopaedic Hospital, County Limerick; when they will be appointed and the number of nursing appointments; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are providing specific funding to the Mid-Western Health Board for the provision of additional nursing services at Croom Orthopaedic Hospital.

Discussions are ongoing between my Department and the health board, on the detailed arrangements involved in this expansion of the service, with a view to putting this development in place as soon as possible.
