Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Question:

256 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment when it is expected that approval will be given by his Department to the preliminary report on the waste water disposal system for Drogheda, County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An environmental impact study in relation to the proposed waste water treatment plant for Drogheda has been submitted to my Department for assessment. A decision on the preliminary report for this proposal must await the outcome of this assessment.

257 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the present position regarding a proposal to provide a sewage treatment plant in Caherciveen, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The preliminary report for the Caherciveen sewerage scheme was approved in November 1991. Further planning of the scheme is a matter for Kerry County Council.

258 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the present position regarding a proposal to provide a sewage treatment plant in Dingle, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

While contract documents for this scheme are with my Department, confirmation is awaited from Kerry County Council that all planning requirements for the scheme have been completed.

259 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the present position regarding a sewage treatment plant in Killorglin, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The preliminary report for the Killorglin sewerage scheme was approved in July 1991. Further planning of the scheme is a matter for Kerry County Council.
