Question:274 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the reason for the long delay in refunding a person (details supplied) in County Cork the passport application fee.
Written Answers. - Refund of Passport Application Fee.
The passport application fee has now been refunded to the person in question.
Refunds of fees, where applicable, are normally dealt with by the Passport Office in ten to 15 working days. However, the very significant increase in passport applications earlier this year led to delays in dealing with some aspects of the work of the office. Every effort will continue to be made to ensure that refund cheques are issued within ten to 15 working days of cancellation of a passport application.
