Vol. 417 No. 9

Written Answers. - Rosslare (Wexford) Veterinary Facilities.

Ivan Yates

Question:

279 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if there are any proposals to relocate the veterinary staff from the Waterford to the Enniscorthy office for the servicing of the veterinary requirements in the port of Rosslare in County Wexford; if, in view of the large volumes of animal traffic now going to both continental Europe and the United Kingdom through Rosslare port, such a rearrangement is now deemed necessary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I do not consider that there is, at the present time, any need to relocate veterinary staff to Enniscorthy. I will of course arrange to have the veterinary requirements for Rosslare kept under review.
