Vol. 417 No. 9

Written Answers. - Speech Therapists.

Richard Bruton

Question:

30 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the number of special national schools with and without a speech therapist; and if he will make a statement on the case of a school (details supplied) where 75 per cent of the 180 pupils are in need of speech therapy.

The provision of speech therapy for pupils who are considered to require that service is a matter for the health authorities.

Accordingly, I intend discussing the whole question of speech therapy with my colleague the Minister for Health.
