Vol. 417 No. 9

Written Answers. - Career Guidance Service.

Patrick D. Harte

Question:

93 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the fact that many schools do not have a career guidance service, his Department have taken any steps to ensure that information and consultation on careers and jobs is available to these schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 27 of 19 February 1992, in which I outlined the provision for guidance in post primary schools.

Career leaflets and information in relation to job vacancies are available on request from FÁS. I am aware that many schools have sought and received such details from that authority.
