39 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline (a) the training provided for military personnel who are involved in monitoring assessment reports, (b) the way in which this monitoring takes place and (c) his views on whether personnel management courses should be taken by the officers concerned in this work.

Michael Finucane

Question:

58 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline (a) the training provided for military personnel who are involved in monitoring assessment reports, (b) the way in which this monitoring takes place and (c) his views on whether personnel management courses should be taken by the officers concerned in this work.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 39 and 58 together.

Formal training, as such, is not provided for personnel involved in monitoring assessment reports. It is considered that sufficient expertise in this regard will have been gained through their broad military experience by the senior personnel who are involved in this type of work.
