93 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health the number of babies born in Dublin hospitals in 1991 compared to the number of home births; and if he will outline the comparative figures for, (a) 1975, (b) 1980 and (c) 1985.
The data requested by the Deputy are set out in the following table. The first row shows total live births in Dublin hospitals for the years in question; the second assigns births to the mother's county of residence and includes babies born outside Dublin to mothers whose usual county of residence is Dublin. The final row gives numbers of domiciliary births recorded for mothers resident in Dublin.
