136 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Health if he has decided on the means test under which he will subvent beds in nursing homes in accordance with the Nursing Homes Act; and when he intends promulgating the regulations to introduce the scheme.
The means test which will be used to establish eligibility for subventions under the new nursing homes legislation has not yet been finalised.
The means test will form part of the subvention regulations which set out the detailed conditions under which subventions may be paid in accordance with the Health (Nuring Homes) Act, 1990.
The drafting of the subvention regulations, including the means test, is at an advanced stage.
