Vol. 418 No. 4

Written Answers. - Clonmel (Tipperary) Corporation.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

181 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the number of local authority houses, both standard and SSH, built by Clonmel Corporation for each of the years 1981 to 1991, inclusive; if he will outline, (a) the number of applicants and (b) the number of those approved for houses in Clonmel, County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

For details of houses provided by Clonmel Corporation in the period referred to, I refer to Question No. 218 of 19 April 1988 for the years 1981-1987; Question No. 221 of 12 April 1989 for the year 1988 and Questions Nos. 1et seq. of 5 February 1992 for the years 1989 and 1990. No houses were provided in 1991.

The number of households whose need for local authority housing was examined by Clonmel Corporation in the most recent assessment of needs was 325. Details of the corporation's assessment of the needs arising from these applications are included in the Housing Statistics Bulletin for the September Quarter 1991, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
