19 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the procedural and operational changes he proposes to introduce into the operation of his Department so as to give effect to the Taoiseach's statement of his commitment to open Government, and if he will make a statement on the matter.
My Department, through its Press Office, issues statements as appropriate and deals with queries about the work of the Department in an open a manner as possible having regard to constraints that will inevitably be imposed from time to time in the Justice area by legal or security considerations.
It is my own personal wish and inclination, in keeping with the Taoiseach's statement, to be as forthcoming as possible with information and it is my intention to ensure that the members of this House and the general public are kept well informed about activities and developments in my Department's area.
