Vol. 419 No. 3

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefit.

Paul Bradford

Question:

77 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Social Welfare if a person (details supplied) in County Cork who was injured at work in 1990 will be considered for a disablement pension.

My Department has no record of receipt of a completed claim form for disablement benefit under the occupational injuries scheme from the person concerned.

He received injury benefit in respect of the accident at work for the period from 9 January 1990 to 9 July 1990, the limit of the 26 week injury benefit period. He continued to receive payments by way of disability benefit until December 1990 when it was decided following a medical examination that he was not incapable of work.

The notice of question has been accepted as a claim for disablement benefit which will be considered and decided as soon as possible.
