182 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which the environmental impact study dealing with the Collooney and Ballisodare by-pass, County Sligo on the N4 was received in his Department; the date on which it was finally sanctioned by him; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The document in question was received in my Department on 24 January 1991. Further information was necessary to allow an Environmental Impact Assessment to be carried out; this was requested from the local authority on 14 August 1991 and was received on 28 August 1991. On 10 February 1992 the then Minister certified that the development may proceed subject to certain actions being taken by Sligo County Council to prevent or limit adverse effects on the environment.
