Vol. 419 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

230 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when headage payments will be made to a person (details supplied); if he will outline the reason for the undue delay in making these payments in view of the hardship being caused; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named has been paid his 1990 EC suckler cow premium scheme grant for small scale milk producers, 1991 cattle and equines headage and special beef premium schemes grants already.

His 1991 application for the EC suckler cow premium scheme for small scale milk producers is being processed at present and payment will be made shortly. He did not apply for grants under any of the sheep schemes.

The delay in this case has been due to the pressure of work.

Question:

231 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when headage payments will be made to a person (details supplied); the reason for the undue delay in making these payments in view of the hardship being caused; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The applications of the person named for grants under the 1991 cattle and equines headage and the 1990 and 1991 EC suckler cow premium schemes for small scale milk producers are being processed at present and payment will be made shortly.

His 1991 special beef premium scheme grant has been paid shortly.

The delay arose in this case as the person named owed moneys to the Land Commission and his headage grants were being held to offset against moneys owed. He recently cleared his arrears with the Land Commission and therefore his headage grants are now being processed.

Question:

233 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when headage payments will be made to a person (details supplied); the reason for the undue delay in making these payments in view of the hardship being caused; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named has been paid his 1991 cattle and equines headage scheme grant already. He did not apply for grants under any other headage or premium schemes. The delay arose in this case as documentary evidence of a change of ownership was necessary before grants could be paid.
