Vol. 419 No. 5

Written Answers. - Speed Limits.

Gerard Collins

Question:

85 Mr. Collins asked the Minister for the Environment if, in the interests of efficiency, he will devolve power to local authorities to make decisions with regard to speed limits in towns and villages within their areas.

The question of devolving powers to local authorities in relation to the application of speed limits on non-national roads is being considered in the context of the Road Traffic Bill which I hope to present in the current Dáil Session.
