Vol. 419 No. 6

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Maintenance Allowance.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

75 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that many persons in receipt of disabled person's maintenance allowance experience difficulty in having the DPMA restored to them when payment of it is suspended for a reason; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not aware of any difficulties with the procedures relating to the restoration of Disabled Persons Maintenance Allowances nor have I received any submission concerning the need to improve the procedures. If the Deputy knows of any instances of difficulties being experienced in the restoration of maintenance allowances I will arrange to have the matter examined.
