Vol. 419 No. 9

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Resources.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

71 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline his plans, if any, to improve the clothing, training and equipment of the Permanent Defence Forces; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Defence Vote for 1992 provides for pay, clothing, training facilities and equipment for the Permanent Defence Force to enable it to carry out its existing roles.

The provision of clothing, training facilities and military equipment for the Permanent Defence Force is kept under continual review. Within the resources available every effort is made to ensure that adequate clothing and the most efficient and modern equipment are provided.
