Vol. 420 No. 4

Written Answers. - Castlecomer Employment Exchange Facilities.

Phil Hogan

Question:

159 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of employees employed in the Castlecomer Employment Exchange; the number of hours that this office is open each week; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The office in Castlecomer is open three days every week. On Monday and Tuesday it opens from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Except for Tuesday morning when there are two staff present to cater for the numbers signing on, the office is normally run by one person.

I am satisfied that the level of staffing and opening hours in Castlecomer are adequate to cater for local demands.
