Vol. 420 No. 4

Business of Dáil.

It is proposed that notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, the proceedings on the Committee Stage of Item No. 10, if not previously concluded, shall be brought to a conclusion at 5 p.m. by one question which shall be put from the Chair and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only amendments set down or accepted by the Minister for Justice.

Is that agreed?

I am happy to accept that, but it is inevitable even at this stage that we will not conclude all of the Committee Stage amendments. The Minister should have some regard to the amount of work we will not cover and we should get reasonable time on Report Stage to enable us to deal with all the matters, because the latter part of this Bill deals with very important issues on competance and compellability.

I take it then that the proposal of the Minister of State regarding the Order of Business for the duration of the day is agreed? Agreed.
