Vol. 420 No. 4

Written Answers. - Oireachtas Committee on Employment.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

82 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Finance if he has received firm proposals for the staffing and financing of the Oireachtas Committee on Employment; if he will confirm that he will be making the necessary order to provide for the necessary staff at the appropriate levels, including making a Clerk to the Committee at principal officer level, available, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The arrangements for the Committee have been the subject of discussion between the Chairman of the Committee, the Clerk of Dáil Éireann and the Secretaries of those Departments particularly involved in matters falling within the Committee's remit.

As a result of those discussions arrangements have been made to assign a Principal Committee Clerk to act as Clerk to the Committee and to make available a working group of suitably qualified staff drawn from those Departments to assist the Committee. These staff will be at Assistant Principal level.
