Theresa Ahearn
Question:113 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that the necessary finances are available to the Southern Health Board to implement the programme on child abuse prevention.
Vol. 420 No. 6
113 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that the necessary finances are available to the Southern Health Board to implement the programme on child abuse prevention.
130 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that there is sufficient finance available to implement the provisions of the child abuse programme.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 113 and 130 together.
I presume the Deputy is referring to the child abuse prevention programme known as the "stay safe" programme which is currently being introduced into primary schools in the Eastern Health Board area.
Any proposals received from the Southern Health Board and the other health boards for funding to enable the stay safe programme to be implemented in their areas will be sympathetically considered by the Department in the context of the £2 million set aside in this year's budget for new developments in child care.
