Vol. 420 No. 6

Written Answers. - Garda House Repairs.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

65 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance if he will make arrangements to have a sewer pipe connected to the main sewer at a former Garda house (details supplied) in County Cork.

The house in questions was sold by the Commissioners of Public Works on 4 March 1991.

When the house was put on the market it was not connected to the main public sewer and there was never any question of the Commissioners arranging for such a connection as part of the sale.
Since the house is now the private property of the new owners the Commissioners have no further function in this matter.
However, I would point out the Commissioners did provide the purchasers, in the Deed of Sale, with a right to lay pipes across all land between their property and the public sewer should they ever wish to make a connection at their own expense subsequent to the sale.
