Question:161 Mr. J. Bruton and Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the current EC Commission proposal on (a) recoverability of all packaging by recycling, (b) compulsory marking of recycling status of all packages, (c) compulsory return or collection of all packaging and (d) the quantity of packaging which may be used by Community manufacturers; and if he will make a statement on his attitude to each of those proposals and their implication for Ireland.
