Vol. 420 No. 9

Written Answers. - Cork Unemployment Figures.

Bernard Allen

Question:

65 Mr. Allen asked the Taoiseach if he will outline the number of people registered as unemployed in Cork city for each of the last 18 months as a percentage of the eligible workforce; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

While information relating to the number of persons on the Live Register in Cork City for the past 18 months is available it is not possible to express this series as a percentage of the relevant labour force figures.

The latest source of information on the total labour force in Cork City is the Census of Population carried out in 1986.
